Pete Dyer
Pete Dyer joined Stray in the mid-1970s, stepping in to help carry the torch when founding singer Steve Gadd departed in 1975. His arrival marked a new chapter for the band. As Gadd’s distinctive voice gave way to a new lead, Dyer brought fresh energy, contributing guitar work and vocals that helped refine the band’s evolving sound.
During his time with the band, Stray navigated some of their most ambitious musical efforts, embracing hard rock, progressive elements and layered instrumentation as they toured and recorded amid changing line-ups. Although the era was challenging commercially, it showcased the band’s resilience and willingness to grow.
Pete’s role during that transitional period helped Stray remain on stage and keep delivering solid performances, reinforcing their status as an enduring presence on the UK rock scene.
