Del Bromham

Few Guitarists embody the heart of British Rock quite like Del Bromham.
As a founding member of STRAY, Del has been at the centre of the band’s story since its birth in West London in the late 1960s, a time when long hair, loud amps, and pure ambition ruled the underground scene.

While most teenage bands were happy to just play, Del and his bandmates were building something bigger, their own lighting rigs, pyrotechnics, and a touring setup that rivalled the Pros. STRAY quickly earned a reputation for their electrifying live shows, powerful songwriting, and fearless energy.

As the band’s guitarist, songwriter, and one of its creative driving forces, Del helped shape STRAY’s signature sound, a mix of bluesy grit, melodic depth, and progressive edge that set them apart from their contemporaries. Through the 1970s, STRAY shared stages with rock legends including Black Sabbath, Rush, KISS, and Status Quo, and became a fixture at the Reading Festival.

When STRAY’s original run ended in 1977, Del didn’t slow down. He released solo material, formed The Del Bromham Band, and over the years reconnected with STRAY through multiple reunions and new lineups. His love for playing never faded, only evolved.

Today, Del continues to front STRAY, keeping the band’s fire burning brighter than ever. His playing, equal parts power and soul, has inspired generations of musicians, and his passion for honest, hard-hitting Rock ‘n’ Roll remains undimmed.

Del also leads Del Bromham’s Blues Devils, showcasing his lifelong love of the blues, and often collaborates with friends in Pearl Handled Revolver, proving that for him, music isn’t a job, it’s a way of life.

Over five decades on, Del Bromham is still doing what he does best: writing, performing, and sharing the kind of music that comes straight from the gut.

A true craftsman, a storyteller, and the beating heart of STRAY.
